Hawaiian Feather Lei Hulu Pheasant Hatband

This lei hulu was hand Stitched by my Husbands Auntie Edna of Honolulu.

Pheasant feathers, stitched onto felt backing,  “flat stitch” technique of hand-sewing feathers to a flat base, usually a felt band. Each feather is sized, trimmed, and hand stitched at least three times securing it to felt backing.  Hundreds and sometimes thousands of feathers are required to complete the hat band. These hat bands can take many hours to finish.
